Tulip Mania | 34 x 34 in. | acrylic on canvas | 2018
The flower succeeds.
A billion tulips are produced a year globally. Most of them from the Netherlands, where the tulip mania, or the skyrocketing value of tulips, first occurred.
Two layers of paint in each section, painted separately and individually. No paint is used direct from the tube, all are custom mixed high quality acrylic pigments.
Landscape includes roads and water channels. Has a layer of protective isolation coat between pigments and removable, brush-applied varnish.
The divisions between the sections are straight and quite visible, as are the brush strokes. They often catch the light, and when they do, highlight the sections surrounding it.
