An artwork divided horizontally into two sections of red and gold. Although it gives the illusion of two single monochromatic blocks of color, each contains over 4 layers to give them a subtle colour variance and fine texture that is visible even unlit. The contrast and reflectivity of the two different surfaces create a powerful draw on the eye.

Some quality of Indian culture, represented here by their archetypal colors, led me to paint this piece. I wanted to express their deep roots in the psyche of Indians across their many subcultures.
